In this blog post, we follow a bride's experience with dress shopping and wedding planning. Despite finding dress shopping to be super easy, wedding planning was more time-consuming. The bride was able to customize every piece of the wedding since it was held on her property and her vision was for rustic elegance with flowers being the main decoration. The day-of went smoothly and the bride wishes she could relive it. Her advice to future brides is to enjoy the day as it goes by in the blink of an eye.

Ivy looked gorgeous in our Elsie gown by Essense of Australia. This gorgeous fit and flare dress is made from beaded lace and tulle over the organza and features a plunging, open back and flowing skirt. The low-cut back is framed by lace-beaded straps and mirrors the plunging v-neckline. This dress is timeless, elegant, and ultimately STUNNING!

How was wedding dress shopping and wedding planning for you? What was your vision?

Dress shopping was super easy! I saw a dress on Dearly's Instagram that I loved so I messaged my mom and we made an appointment to go in. I had a two hour appointment and tried on about seven dresses. I didn't get the one I saw on the Instagram page but I got one very similar! I loved the limited choices Dearly offered, as I can get overwhelmed easily. The setting was very calm and intimate. I ended up getting my dress 13 months before my wedding, but that gave me plenty of time to get alterations! Wedding planning was time consuming but I was able to customize every single piece of it since it was at my property. I wanted flowers to be the main decorations and McBride Floral Design delivered! My vision was rustic elegance.

How did it go the day-of?

My wedding went very smoothly the day-of. It flew by and I wish I could relive it!

What would be your advice to future brides?

Enjoy the day! You put so much planning (and money) into it and it just goes by in the blink of an eye!
