Welcome back to the Dearly Bride Blog where we share stories about our real brides and their stunning weddings! We are thrilled to share the beautiful wedding of our real bride, who had always envisioned an outdoor ceremony but wanted to avoid the elements undoing hours of preparation. When her favorite flower shop and greenhouse started hosting events, she knew it was the perfect place for her wedding, even before she was engaged! The venue perfectly complemented her eclectic, bohemian vibe. Initially, she planned for a wildflower and pastel theme for her spring wedding, but this evolved into a mix of eucalyptus, dried browns, and tans after finding a great deal on wedding decor from Facebook Marketplace.
Her main goal was to ensure the day was about her and her partner, filled with fun, and she didn’t compromise on that for anyone. The result was a perfect day, with many compliments on how uniquely "them" the celebration was. Her top tip for future brides? Stick to what you want and don't add anything just because someone else thinks you should.
By our real bride, Missy:
What was the vision for your wedding?
I always wanted an outdoor wedding but didn’t want to spend hours getting ready to have the elements undo it in 30 seconds, so when our favorite flower shop/greenhouse started hosting events, I knew that was where we were getting married even before we were engaged! It fit right in with the eclectic, bohemian vibe we sought. I would say, since it was in spring I started out planning wildflowers and pastels for our theme which changed to eucalyptus and dried browns and tan when I got all of the wedding decor for a steal off Facebook marketplace.
How did it go the day-of?:
We set out on our planning journey with one goal in mind, this is about us and we want to have fun and we didn’t bend on those things for anyone. And the day was perfect, it could not have gone better! In the end, we got more compliments on how the day was just so uniquely us and that was what people loved the most about it!
What is your #1 tip to future brides?
Only do what you want to do…don’t add something in or pay for something extra because someone says you need to or they want it!
