Wedding dress shopping and planning can be an overwhelming process for many brides-to-be. From finding the perfect dress to choosing the right decor, it can be a lot to handle. In this blog post, one bride shares her experience with wedding dress shopping and planning, from finding her dream dress to the day-of details. She also provides some helpful tips and advice for future brides. If you're currently planning your own wedding, this post might give you some inspiration and ideas for your big day!

Rachel looked absolutely stunning in her Justin Alexander dress. This gown is an A-line silhouette with illusion lace long sleeves that sit just off the shoulder. Delicate floral lace cascades from the bodice into the skirt while the unlined bodice adds a hint of sexiness. A chapel-length train is the perfect finishing touch.

By our real bride, Rachel:

How was wedding dress shopping and wedding planning for you? What was your vision?

The shopping wasn't as arduous as I thought it would be. I've been told by some of my married friends that they had to go to multiple bridal shops and try on so many dresses but for me, it only took me a couple shops and several dresses to try on to realize that it was the first shop and first dress that I tried on! I couldn't believe how fast I was in saying yes to the dress. I knew I wanted an off-the-shoulder, long sleeve lace dress and it was exactly what I got.

As for the wedding planning, although it was a micro wedding, there were still a lot of details to go through. I think I had the hardest time picking what kind of table numbers I wanted. It felt like I spent too much time on that, haha.

How did it go the day-of?

I really wanted it go smoothly and on-schedule, but of course I was running a little late and the pre-ceremony was pretty rushed with getting certain photos. Looking back, I feel as though my wedding day went by so fast. It was very intimate with just 30 people, but with the best people honestly. The venue itself made it very easy because we didn't have to do too much decorating. The Roberts Mansion was very rich in history and charm. and everyone loved it.

What would be your advice to future brides?

Even if you have a day-of or month-of coordinator, putting together a wedding binder for yourself is a must! It was because of TikTok and Instagram that I decided to do this for myself. I handed it over to my day-of coordinator which really helped her, and me especially, so that I could relax on my wedding day.

Another thing I’d recommend is having a box or two of all your wedding things... labeled! That helps everyone who is setting things up for you.
