This blog post tells the story of a bride who had a simple and chic courthouse wedding. For her, wedding dress shopping was one of the easiest parts of the process. On the day of the wedding, she got ready with her loved ones in the same space and drove to the courthouse with her husband-to-be. The wedding day was perfect and full of meaningful moments. Her advice to future brides is to embrace simplicity and do what is true to their hearts.

Vanessa opted not for the traditional dress but for an edgy pantsuit paired with a stunning cape she bought from us. The cape adds the perfect soft, romantic touch to the modern, sexy look of the jumpsuit. We could not be more obsessed with Vanessa’s wedding day look!

By our real bride, Vanessa:

How was wedding dress shopping and wedding planning for you? What was your vision?

My vision was civil chic as we were doing a courthouse “elopement.” The wedding planning was very simple and dress shopping was one of the easiest parts of the whole process!

How did it go the day-of?

The day of was perfect! We didn’t do the traditional getting ready in different spaces, so the day of was chaotic with all my most important people (mom, sister, auntie, son) and I getting ready in the same house/space. My (future) husband and I drove to the courthouse together just us two, so we got to talk about our future, our dreams, and our hopes.

What would be your advice to future brides?

Simplicity. I always dreamed of a big wedding and even bigger party, but after doing a small elopement-style wedding the simplicity of it is what made it so special. There was no fuss, and even though ALL wedding planning is stressful, do what is true to your heart and it will be perfect.
